TECHNOLOGY FRAMEWORK

Remote Learning

This Learning Continuity Plan includes a tabulation of tools and resources available to our school community with which both our teachers and students are familiar. This section details the students and faculty device program for a comprehensive outline of the accessible tools and resources.

Our Technological Frame is oriented by the following components:

  • Devices

  • Online technology program

  • Social Media platform

  • Connectivity

Although the use of digital technology in flexible education may not be familiar for everyone in our community, we strive to maintain stable lines of communication and accessible means for information dissemination. Though we are physically apart from our students and their parents, and our faculty and staff, we continue to uphold the continuation of learning.

SYNCHRONOUS VIDEO CONFERENCING

Synchronous video conferencing refers to two-way video communications that enable our students to interact online. Teachers and students converse and collaborate via audio, video, and screen-sharing platforms, making this type of communication reliable for remote teaching and learning.

Video conferencing enables classes and meetings to be conducted as if students, parents, and/or teachers were seated face-to-face. It is best suited for live and interactive events with a small number of attendees.

ASYNCHRONOUS VIDEO STREAMING

Asynchronous video streaming enables our students and teachers to broadcast high-definition video presentations with minimal disruptions in near-real-time. It also allows interactions via the text-based chat and Question and Answer (Q&A) feature.

With an asynchronous video streaming tool, our school events, and circulars, and/or announcements can be broadcasted securely via the Internet, minimizing "accidental interactivity" incidents that degrade the live stream, such as:

  • Attendees not on mute contributing background noise

  • Music overlapping and/or taking over the audio

  • Notifications of entry and exit of stream participant/s

  • Proprietary viewing software
